The first few lines made me nostalgic about the "time of our lives". The pictures are stunning. To capture such details and emotions one surely need an adept pair of skilled eyes. Indeed you are blessed with it. Loved the way how pictures has been described with a mix of emotions and sarcasm.
Thanks a lot, Azlan. Our life and times are in our hands and we must make the most of it. Times gone by have to be remembered with a smile on our face and time today has to be enjoyed, times ahead should not be thought of with a worry. That's the magic mantra
The cubs look so innocent and happy. Who would believe that in a couple of years time they will become the most majestic and feared predators of the jungle! Thanks for sharing sir :)
Right, Anshuman. Innocent cubs to Feared predators , the journey has to be completed to achieve the ecological right balance of nature & our planet. Every stage of life is critical and important & needs to be celebrated and respected. Thanks
Sir, amazing pictures and cubs really look very cute. My son saw the pics of the cubs for the first time and his expressions and happiness are awesome...eagerly waiting for new pictures for next week..
The Way you weave these photographs within a story is absolutely amazing. The sequence of the photographs are testimony of your patience and your preparedness in anticipation of what's to come. Its a great reading. Please keep sharing.
Thanks a lot, Arbind. Actually , it is not that difficult. Once you see such action ahead of you , you just get sucked into it. Of course anticipating an event and action requires one to be patient, at times hours of wait and then when the action happens it is virtually sudden and unannounced and you have to just pounce on the opportunity. And as suddenly as it starts , it ends too . You know it, you area photographer yourself. Also, what I share is what I have captured, am sure you appreciate that "no success" can be w/o disappointments. In fact in disappointments lies the real happiness of success. Hence they have to co exist and balance each other out. Life provides "all tastes" .
And surely there is a "sunrise" moment everywhere but for that one has to see and pass the "dark night".
Thanks a lot, Neena. I know you are very busy, yet you pulled time out to read and appreciate and you truly love the wild so happy it touched your heart and appealed you. Share it with friends pls
Adorable cubs in their playful acts and cute gestures. Difficult to resist the temptation to cuddle them. Thanks for bringing back the nostalgia of those summer (afternoons)when we engaged ourselves in acts like those with our cousins and friends whilst the rest of the house preferred afternoon siesta..! Also how we anxiously awaited Sundays to watch Mowgly, The jungle book.....like we await Saturdays for your blogs now. Thankyou sir for the beautiful pictures and anecdotes.
Thanks you so much Sachin. You made my day by comparing it with "Jungle Book" and Sunday , Mowgly. Keeps my spirit up to recall my good wild encounters and bring it all to you. Thanks again for the motivation
The social aspect of the wild life often remains unexplored or to be more precise, usually remains out of focus. The story here about the little cubs is a total deviation from a normal 'norm' followed for the stories about the big cats. Most of th stuff we find around mostly focusses on the preying prowess of these cats or the survival acts of the so called 'preys'. Prag has surely been brilliantly vivid in bringing out this cute behaviour of the big cat cubs very succinctly. This story has successfully portrayed the parallels in the playfulness of the wild life and the human life.
Enjoyed reading every bit of it. Thanks for sharing the experience is such simple but exoressive manner!
Thank you so much Manu. Your commentary and expression is mind blowing. You of course are a "poet" in your own way. Most importantly, am happy you caught the subtle difference in the wild - rough angle of wildlife to a more softer angle . You brought it out well. Am so happy if I impact even a few of the readers , keeps me going.
Just back from Kabini yday evening and had some wonderful experiences, which i hope I would translate into "InFocus" stories soon. Meanwhile stay "InFocus" till saturday
Summer holidays were fun filled with cousins and friends, indulged in day long activities. Days started with games, food, swimming in the pond, tree climbing, cycling and what not!!!
Those memories are as sweet as the mangoes and jackfruits we had from the backyard of grandpa's house.
Thank you, sir for your visual treat with awesome clicks as always which took me to those memories of summer holidays.
The Cubs look so beautiful and innocent through your lens...hats off to your efforts
Thanks Sreejith , one of the best articulated comments / reply.
You provided a true reflection of what "summer holidays" were for most of us. Those were gorgeous times for sure. Uninhibited enjoyment , just as the cubs indulged, climbing trees, falling , getting up , attempting again, no "shame in falling / failing.
Then one grew and a measurement yardstick was put, what is success and what is failure. Who decided it? It got passed on to the next gen and the next gen and the yardstick became steeper / stricter and such small joys and pleasures of life got deprived to subsequent generations. Summers became about camps "swimming, cricket, soccer, tennis, reading" etc etc ... the yardstick got steeper and stricter during summers. I wish we realize it is not right and ease up a bit , before it gets too late.
Am happy "Babies Day Out" , got you "InFocus" on your childhood.
Reach out to cousins and friends and rekindle those days.
Share this blog with them please , if it helps. Let them know how you feel about & for them.
Thanks so much Varun. I like the phrase "Memories for life" .. surely they are ones which can serve the whole life. Pls share it with your friends and cousins too
