This reminds me of a Sanskrit shloka from Hitopdesh that goes like this -
न अभिषेकों न संस्कारः सिंघस्य कियते वने । विक्रमाजिर्तस्त्वस्य स्वयमेव मृगेंद्रता ।।
("Nãbhisheko Na Samskãra, Simhasya Kriyate Vane, Vikramãrjita Satwasya, Swayameva Mrgendratã")
Meaning - No anointment nor investiture is done (conducted) for a lion (here the saying is for lion) in the forest. He/She obtains Kingship over the animals solely by right of conquest.
It aptly fits the Queen Magge.. “स्वयमेव मृगेंद्रता” !! अनभिषिक्त सम्राज्ञी !!
Well said , Amit ... no wonder you are the Prachar Pramukh ... you explain & put your point across well. Thanks & do "prachar" of InFocus after all you are also its Prachar Pramukh
Nature has a way of showing us the beauty and strength that exist in animal kingdom. Magges transformation over the years into bold and beautiful queen has been truly depicted through your lens and narration.... The candid moments of her life showcasing her various moods are nothing short of breath taking. Every picture reflects her persona, her beauty and her power....also the knack of capturing the details !
Her long walk on the MM path as she reclaims her position is truly awe inspiring sight, reflecting her indominable spirit..Thanks for sharing this incredible experience !!
Thanks a lot, Sachin . She is a true Diva , isnt't it ? Class apart , leaving a mark in her small world , impacting "aliens " like us . U must make a few trips to Kabini , really must
Coronation conjures up images of Shivba and Jijaai mata. Queen gives me goosebumps of stories read of Ahaliyabai Hollar, Kittur Chenamma, and of course the legend Rani of Jhansi. All these thoughts flooded me when I read the blog and Maage's image with her cub. The title does enough justice to the images ( which are superb!) Tigers, Lions maybe all animals in the wild have an intrinsic behavior to exhibit their wares to reclaim their place I believe and this is so very true of kings and queens too! Maybe Lady Diana was an exception! Well I enjoyed reading it and not to mention the excellent expressions captured by you of Magge.... Sorry Queen Magge. Very Nice!
We surely have loads of connect with Royalty , at least in our Brain , is what I would say after reading this . Shivaji - Jija mata to Diana , Magge helped us take on a long historical journey. Thanks Rajesh ...
Wonderfully captured and narrated…specially all her expressions, she seems to be posing for the camera as if she knew she is going to be featured in inFocus🙂
Thank yoi so much , Ashok ... those certainly are dream shots , hard to get , ever i suppose with such a clean background, enfless - serpentine road & SHE
Thanks a ton, Charles . Hope it has also helped recede your fear for the wild ? Once we do not breach their space , less likely anything bad would happen
Sir, Such wonderful pics of the Queen of Kabini and every frame is so emotive n have a story to narrate.
Lovely composition and I am always fascinated with the habit shots. You seriously give us wildlife photography goals. Keep shooting wildlife n share the pictures.
Thanks a lot, Lipika . Your appreciation is special as you yourself are a photographer & also know the nuances & follow some exceptional guys of this craft . Emotive - yes ... Magge has provided a treasure over time ... some hard work to recall & pull those pics out ... but well worth the effort
Thank you so much Arpit . A bit of work for me tp extract images shot over a longer period (remember & pull out) . I hopw it helped give a peep into how she has progressed & matured over time ?
